Several years later, Kai, the half-breed has grown into a fine man. He is very thankful to Lord Asano for taking care of him, not only was Lord Asano a great leader and father he also did a good job in making Ako a rich land.
The tragedy started when the Shogun arranged a tournament between the best warrior of Lord Asano and Lord Kira. That night Lord Asano is bewitched in hurting Lord Kira and was punished by the Shogun to commit Seppukku, leaving the Samurais leaderless and becoming Ronins.
Recognizing that everything is part of Lord Kira’s evil plan, Oishi, the master Ronin, made a vow to avenge their master. Now it’s up to Kai and the forty-seven Ronins to give back the Honor of their master that was stolen from him.
The movie is based on a true story popularized by the fictional accounts known as Chūshingura. Personally I like the movie even if a lot of Japanese is showing otherwise.
The movie is packed with action and special effects that are both pleasing to the eyes. You can say that it’s a testosterone filled movie with just enough drama and love story along the way.
