Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad has an on point trailer and is looking great.

The premise: Supervillains accept a secret government mission that will likely result in their deaths.

There is a great animated version which are expecting to be close to the actual film, based on the trailers.. but we’ll see..

Coming in 2016..

Update: August 2016

Ok.. so that was the highlight.. the trailer.. we’ve now seen the movie.. and well we’re sorry.

The trailers were awesome.

We love the story, what looked like great casting and the possibility of something fun, exciting and timely..

In stead.. well it just didn’t work.

Probably trying to please too many people.

Compare that with Deadpool.. which has rocked.. and everyone that gets it loved.

They understand being Marmite and Wasabi.

Disappointed is the word that most someones up the feedback from sampling over 100+ of our loyal reviewers and fans.

There are some great moments.. but where as sometimes you’re waiting for the teaser and excited.. we left.. ready to leave

Enchantress.. such a waste and not the plot line we’d have gone for.

We don’t know how this got authorised.. and green lit..

Why oh why..

Haven’t they been doing focus groups?

Here’s our quick review..

Overall: Filmblast 2/5

Soundtrack: 3-4/5

Look and Feel : 4/5

Story: 2/5

Batman vs Superman

It’s been nearly two years since Superman’s (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

This is a really interesting movie, at an interesting time in cinema.

Netflix’s Daredevil has been setting the bar for adult comic adaptions, meanwhile there are so many kid friendly mega franchises coming together that it’s going to be interesting to see what comes next.

So.. the double bill.. yes.. do it.. Whether you watch it at home or in the cinema, you’ll benefit from watching Man of Steel knowing that Batman vs Superman is coming up.

After all .. how could Batman come to not be pro-Superman…

The movie itself does a lot.. it has a lot of plotlines and elements, and both sets up the future.. and completes some arcs for those who know the comic book stories.

Highlights.. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.. she’s going to be great.. (fingers crossed).

Lowlights.. We love -Jesse Eisenberg – see Now You See Me etc.. – but as Lex Luther.. a bit too Joker.. for those of us who are used to him being the cool super villain with a brain to rival Tony Stark.. The other surprise was Amy Adams, who plays Lois Lane.. When you watch both the movies together.. she just seems flat.. I think a function of the writing and the focus, and finding the balance between action and romance.

Biggest Surprises … Ben Affleck as a dark and brooding Batman.. and what was that.. Aquaman (but not the Adrian Grenier /
Vincent Chase from Entourage (ed. which would have made us all .. well so so so happy had it been awesome)

  • Overall.. 8/10
  • Story: 8/10
  • GFX: 8/10
  • Music: 8/10
